Although the cybersecurity sector has historically acknowledged the threat of inference-time attacks, a widespread misconception within the industry has persisted, asserting that these threats, collectively referred to as Promptware, are either impractical or pose minimal risk, thereby necessitating specialized expertise and prohibitive resources. The research publication "Invitation Is All You Need! Promptware Attacks Against LLM-Powered Assistants in Production Are Practical and Dangerous," fundamentally disputes this misconception.
